Huntingdon students serve across Montgomery
Huntingdon students will serve in sites across Montgomery today as part of Big Red Day of Service. Led in teams by faculty, Student Affairs staff, and upper-level students, approximately 350 entering freshmen and transfers will serve in five sites in town and in five sites on campus beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 11:30 a.m.

Huntingdon named to select US News Short Lists
In articles recently published by U.S. News and World Report, Huntingdon College was listed among “The Short List: 10 Colleges Where Studying Abroad is Common” and among “The Short List: 10 Colleges that Often Lead to Graduate School.” The articles were based on data collected for the publishing of the 2016 U.S. News “Best Colleges” edition. The 2017 U.S. News “Best Colleges” edition, published in September 2016, ranked Huntingdon among the top ten Regional Colleges in the South and among the top ten Best Buys among Regional Colleges.

Huntingdon Leadership Academy wraps up third year
Forty high school juniors and seniors participated in Huntingdon College’s Huntingdon Leadership Academy from June 25-30 this summer. These students, from all across the state of Alabama and the panhandle of Florida, explored their callings during HLA and gained new and deepened understanding of faith, theology, and their role in God’s work on earth. HLA connects the Alabama-West Florida Conference, as well as the North Alabama Conference, with Huntingdon College and Duke Divinity School in efforts to engage high school students with their vocation.

Brianne Smith honored with AICPA Standing Ovation Award
Huntingdon College accounting professor Brianne Smith was one of 16 CPAs under age 40 honored by the American Institute of CPAs (AICPA) with the second annual Personal Financial Planning Standing Ovation, recognizing her professional contributions to personal financial planning. Smith was honored at the AICPA’s Advanced Personal Financial Planning Conference in Las Vegas, part of AICPA ENGAGE.

Dr. Anna McEwan joins College as Provost
Huntingdon College President J. Cameron West announced today the appointment of Dr. Anna McEwan as provost and dean of the college. She will begin July 1.

Evening Program announces Spring 2017 Dean’s List
At the end of each semester, the Huntingdon College Registrar’s Office issues a list of students enrolled in the College’s Evening Bachelor’s Degree program who have achieved academic distinction in their coursework during the semester and have earned inclusion on the program’s Dean’s List of Honors.
