PARKING AND VEHICLE SAFETY
- Make sure your vehicle is secured and do not leave your personal property in plain view. Do not leave your vehicle running and unattended.
- Students are discouraged from parking on city streets since this is not our property. Please park your vehicle in your designated campus lot. If you park on a city street your vehicle is more likely to be vandalized, burglarized or struck by another vehicle. Parking on a city street along a yellow curb is illegal.
- There is a crosswalk at the intersection of Bankhead and Fairview Ave. that is a three way stop. When using this crosswalk, you must push the button on the poles to activate the blinking red lights and you must look both ways before crossing. Do not assume that a vehicle will stop just because you have the right of way. Signs are in place to alert vehicles that they are coming upon a stop sign, but be alert as some drivers do not adhere to the stop sign or lights. The lights operate on solar power so some days they may not operate correctly. Please be especially cautious when crossing at this intersection.
- Parking on the grass at either campus is prohibited unless authorized by the Chief of Security. Any vehicle parked on the grass without permission is subject to be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
- If you operate a vehicle on Fairview Avenue or College Street be mindful of the speed limit in order to avoid being issued a citation. These two streets are closely monitored by the Montgomery Police Department.
- Students may park their vehicles in the parking spaces along Fairview Ave. and Boultier St. while attending classes, etc. at Cloverdale. Student parking is not allowed on Navarro Street as per the City of Montgomery. Reserved spaces on Navarro St. are restricted for Pro-Impact patients only. Citations will be issued to violators, and unauthorized vehicles are subject to be towed at the driver’s or owner’s expense by the Montgomery Police Department.. The parking spaces inside the gates between the Weil Center and Cloverdale and the Wilson Gym and Cloverdale are reserved for faculty and handicapped parking. Parking inside the entrance to the football field inside the north end zone is reserved for coaches and staff.
- The parking lot at the Huntingdon College Bookstore is for customer parking only. Students are not to park in this lot while attending classes, practices, etc., during normal business hours.
- Our neighbors and students who reside on College Court have asked that our faculty, staff, students and visitors refrain from parking on this small dead end street unless you reside in one of the college owned houses. BLOCKING ANY OF THE DRIVEWAYS on the street could result in your vehicle being towed at your expense.
- Please do not ride in the back of a pickup truck. Your safety is very important to us.
- Just a reminder: DO NOT PARK IN THE FIRE LANES. DO NOT PARK IN HANDICAPPED SPACES unless you have a proper handicapped tag or hang-tag. Parking illegally may result in the issuance of a $250. citation or towing at the owner’s expense.
- To avoid causing damage to other vehicles such as dents and scratches, use caution while exiting, loading or unloading your vehicle. If you cause damage to someone’s vehicle, report this matter to Security.
