The Woodwinds Studio
The Woodwinds Studio at Huntingdon College is made up of music and non-music majors, all of whom receive$16,500 scholarships (per year) to perform in theMarching Scarlet and Grey.
Additionally, there many performance opportunities within the band and music programs, regardless of major. These include the Huntingdon Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Choir, Pep Band, Jazz Band, and Chamber Ensembles.
Music Majors: The Huntingdon College woodwind program takes a comprehensive approach to developing a well-rounded musician. Throughout the four-year degree plan, musicians who are majoring in music will receive weekly one-on-one, one-hour lessons with a faculty member.

Meet The Faculty
Dr. William Hayter
Assistant Professor
Theory and Woodwinds
Dr. William Hayter joined Huntingdon in fall 2023 after teaching for Texas Lutheran University, Tarrant County College, Midwestern State University, and Kilgore College, as well as at the middle and high school levels for schools in Texas. He has performed for audiences in the United States, Canada, Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Bosnia, Finland, and Spain.
Mr. Anthony Vittore

Anthony Vittore serves as Director of Bands at Huntingdon College, where he conducts the Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, and Marching Band. A native of Panama City, Florida, he earned both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education and Conducting from Troy University.
Prior to joining the faculty at Huntingdon College, Mr. Vittore served for more than twenty years as Director of Bands at Elmore County High School. During his tenure, his ensembles consistently earned superior ratings and numerous top honors, including Grand Champion and Most Entertaining awards. He was named Teacher of the Year at both Elmore County High School and for Elmore County Schools and also served as the district’s Fine Arts Supervisor.
An active conductor and clinician, Mr. Vittore has led honor bands throughout Alabama and Florida and served on the Troy University Summer Band Camp faculty for eleven years. He was a quarterfinalist for the 2020 GRAMMY Music Educator Award and holds membership in Phi Kappa Phi, Kappa Kappa Psi, and the SEUS Board at Troy University. He is also an honorary member of Tau Beta Sigma and Phi Mu Alpha. In addition, he has served as conductor of the Wetumpka “Pops” Community Band for the past ten years.
Mr. Vittore has been married to his wife, Brandy, for 21 years, and they have three children together.
